Playa Hermosa is one of the most consistently breaking beaches in the world. Because this beach stretches for several miles and surf is present year round, you are sure to find your prefect A-frame beach break at any moment. However, during the rainy season, which is, May to December, the swells are the biggest. Although Playa Hermosa is best surfed when it's tide is mid to high, spectacular surf is found at any time. There are four well know breaks on Playa Hermosa, T-land, the Almond Tree, Pig farm and Rio Tulin. While vacationing at the bungalow you will be seconds away from the Almond tree surf break.
On the large days when the surf can get double to triple overhead you can find smaller waves five minutes away in Jaco, or it is recommended to take the 45 minute drive to Boca Barranca, one of the world's longest waves, which breaks for over 1 km. This spot is more protected so if it is double overhead in Hermosa it woud be 6-8 feet at Boca Barranca.
